How to Earn Time Tokens on Immortal Realm: Every Source Listed

Every way to earn Time Tokens on Immortal Realm — playtime, daily ledger, quests, achievements, events, and what tokens buy.

This is the player manual for Time Tokens — every source, every rate, every spend option. For the underlying token system, Immortal Realm Time Tokens. For the broader currency map, Immortal Realm Currencies.

Quick Answer

Source Rate Notes
Passive playtime 1 token / 15 active min Position-poll every 60s; 10-min AFK gate
Convoy zone 3× passive multiplier while in zone Stacks on top of arrival gold
Daily Ledger full clear 9-18 tokens/day by Order Non-Order 9-12, Chir/Ledger 12-15, VH 15-18
Quest completions Per-quest payoffs Varies; Sunken Archives = 10 per member
Achievements 5-100+ tokens, one-time Long-tail income
Events Event-specific Seasonal spikes

A typical 1-hour session of normal play pays ~4 passive tokens + Daily Ledger income. Adding a convoy escort to that session can triple the passive portion during the zone time.

Quick Facts

Token cap None (uncapped accumulation)
Tradeable No (account-bound)
Persistence Forever (no decay)
Cross-character Yes (account-side)
Cross-account Never
What they buy Cosmetics, utility items, account-bound rewards

Source 1: Passive Playtime

Verified rate: 1 token per 15 active minutes, where "active" means your character's position changed during a 60-second poll within the last 10 minutes. After 10 minutes without a position change, accrual pauses.

Activity Level Rate
AFK (no movement for 10+ min) Zero — accrual stops
Standing in place crafting / casting Pauses after 10 min — move occasionally
Active play (any movement) 1 tick/minute → 1 token / 15 min
In a convoy zone (within 12 tiles of any living convoy NPC) 3 ticks/minute → 1 token / 5 min
Actively mentoring a Young partner +1 tick/minute on top of base rate

The increments stack: a non-Young player partied with a Young player and standing in a convoy zone earns 3 + 1 = 4 ticks/minute (1 token roughly every 3.75 minutes) until the daily mentor cap fires.

You don't have to do anything special to earn the base rate. The position-based gate is intentionally simple; nudge your character every few minutes during long stationary work and you'll keep accruing.

Source 2: Daily Ledger

A reliable daily source. Full system at Daily Ledger.

Step Reward
Complete one daily task 1-3 Time Tokens (real range from registered tasks)
Complete all applicable tasks Per-task rewards + 3 Time Token all-complete bonus
Daily streak Cosmetic record only (no token multiplier)

A full clear by Order:

Membership Visible Tasks Full-Clear Income
Non-Order 4 9-12
Chirurgeon / Ledger 5 12-15
Velvet Hand 6 (two Order tasks) 15-18

How to engage:

  1. Open the Daily Ledger gump first thing each session.
  2. See the day's tasks (per-category caps: 2 Universal + 1 Social + your Order's tasks + 1 World; Prestige category is empty for now).
  3. Plan your session around hitting them.
  4. Complete = automatic reward.
  5. All-complete = bonus auto-paid on the last task closing (Prestige is excluded from the bonus check, so its eventual addition won't gate the bonus).

Source 3: Quest Completions

Quests pay Time Tokens on completion. Varies widely by quest size.

Quest Type Token Range
New Haven welcome quest Small but reliable
Starter quests (Rid the Skeleton, etc.) 1-3 per quest
Bounty Orbit Quests Mid-range
Living Herbarium milestones Per cultivar archived
Frog Collection / King Whiskers / Fish / Beast Plus parallel currencies
Major arcs (Ashen Pact, Britannia Murders, Blood Market) High
Rivalry Quest Single-session payoff
Bounty Hunting Per Writ resolved

For quest tracking, your character's quest log (paperdoll → quest button).

Source 4: Achievements

One-time milestone payouts when you hit specific accomplishments. Full system at Achievements.

Tier Range Sample Achievements
Starter 5-10 tokens Apprentice (skill 50), Wanderer (5 cities), Journeyman (skill 70)
Mid 25-30 tokens Grandmaster (skill 100), Explorer of Britannia (9 cities)
High 50-75 tokens Loyal Citizen (1,000 playtime), Writ Master, Riverkeeper, Beastbinder
Long-arc 100+ tokens Slippery Fingers (60 frogs)

Real numbers from the achievement registry. Most achievements pay once per account (so re-earning on a different character doesn't double-pay). The achievement system covers seven categories — pick the categories aligned with how you play.

Source 5: Events

Event content pays Time Tokens via event-specific quest reward structures.

Event Type Notes
Seasonal events Periodic, themed
Story arcs Token payouts on chapter completion
Live ops One-shot or short-lived events

Events are calendared on the news page. Worth watching.

Source 6: Convoy Escort

The single biggest passive multiplier. While you stand inside a convoy's 12-tile zone of any living convoy NPC, your Time Token tick rate is the base passive rate (ConvoyRewards.GetTickMultiplier returns 3 for any player in any active convoy zone).

Action Reward
Stand in zone 3× passive Time Token rate while in zone
Reach 70% zone-time at arrival Gold payout (250-900g per route)
Stay through ambush + clean kill Tribute chest gold drops at the ambush site
Solo a convoy Same per-player rules; no party bonus needed

Convoys are scheduler-driven; watch for "A convoy departs from..." broadcasts in major cities.

Source 7: Mentoring a Young Partner

A non-Young player partied with a Young player earns a +1 tick/minute bonus to their passive accrual while within 15 tiles of the Young partner. Mechanically:

  • You must not be Young yourself.
  • A Party must be active with the Young partner in it.
  • Both players must be in proximity (15 tiles) on the same map.
  • Daily cap: 60 minutes/day of mentoring credit per mentor account.
  • Diminishing returns: after 3 consecutive days mentoring the same Young partner, the bonus drops to a 50% chance per minute; after 5+ days, it stops entirely. Rotating Young partners avoids the diminish.
  • The mentor also accrues progress on the Guiding Youth Daily Ledger task.

The bonus stacks additively with the convoy multiplier (3 + 1 = 4 ticks/minute in a convoy zone with a Young partner). It's the steadiest secondary boost available outside convoys.

Source 8: Civic Order Service

Order service does not pay direct Time Tokens — service-points are the Order's own currency for promotion, separate from the token economy. The token connection is indirect: completed Order service triggers DailyLedger.DailyLedgerBridge.OnOrderServiceAwarded, which advances Daily Ledger Order tasks (College Call / Ledger Decree / Velvet Commission), each of which pays 3 Time Tokens on completion.

So Order service pays:

Layer Currency
Direct service-action payout Order-specific service points (rank progression)
Daily Ledger task progression 3 Time Tokens per Order task completed
Non-Order rewards (e.g. Mortal Shock rituals) Vary — Last Rites gives Chirurgeons 6 SP; Death Certificate gives Ledger members 2 filing points

Rank progression is the bigger payoff — but the Daily Ledger Order task is the consistent token-economy hook.

What Time Tokens Buy

Spend Category Examples
Cosmetic items Themed cosmetics, decorations
Utility items Quality-of-life consumables
Account-bound gear Rewards that can't be traded
Title deeds Public-facing identifiers
Specialty items Rare items not available elsewhere

The token shop is browsable from a token vendor NPC. Browse early to see what you're working toward.

Realistic Daily Income

Computed from verified sources for an account that plays 1 hour/day:

Profile Passive Daily Ledger Total
Non-Order, no convoy ~4 9-12 ~13-16
Chirurgeon / Ledger, no convoy ~4 12-15 ~16-19
Velvet Hand, no convoy ~4 15-18 ~19-22
VH member + caught a convoy departure ~7-10 (3× during zone time) 15-18 (incl. Road Duty completion) ~22-28

Quest one-shots, achievement milestones, and event content layer on top irregularly. A new player working through the Sunken Archives expedition picks up 10 tokens on first completion (one-time per account). A player hitting Grandmaster on a skill picks up 25-30 from the achievement, etc.

Practical rules:

  1. Always complete the Daily Ledger. It's the steadiest per-minute source.
  2. Catch convoy departures when they fire. The 3× passive multiplier compounds across the run, plus the arrival gold and Daily Ledger Road Duty credit.
  3. Pursue achievements aligned with how you play. Don't grind off-fit content for 5-10 tokens.
  4. Engage with one Order seriously. Order service feeds your Daily Ledger Order task, which pays 3 Time Tokens on completion.
  5. Do quests when you encounter them. Don't go quest-hunting; let them appear.

Common Mistakes

  • Trying to grind tokens like gold. Doesn't work; the rate is calibrated against time.
  • Skipping the Daily Ledger. It's free engagement that pays.
  • Hoarding without spending. The shop has things worth getting; don't sit on tokens forever.
  • Trying to convert tokens to gold. No path exists; they're separate economies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I farm Time Tokens fast?
Not really. Time Tokens are designed as a passive playtime reward, not a grind currency. Active engagement with the Daily Ledger plus quest content roughly doubles your passive rate, but there's no exploit-tier fast farm. Pace is intentional — token rewards are calibrated for the playtime they require.
Are Time Tokens tradeable?
No. Time Tokens are account-bound. You earn them by playing; you spend them on your account. There's no token marketplace, no gift mechanism, no way to transfer between accounts. The design intent is that the player who put in the time gets the reward.
Do I lose tokens by switching characters?
No. Time Tokens are account-side, not character-side. All characters on your account share the same token balance. Switching characters mid-day doesn't reset anything.
