Immortal Realm

Crafting Materials Reference

A reference of crafting materials on Immortal Realm — standard ores, hides, cloth, and the Felucca-exclusive Fel Iron and Shadowforged tier.

This is the crafting materials reference. For the broader crafting system, Immortal Realm Crafting. For Felucca-tier specifics, Fel Iron and Shadowforged.

Felucca-Exclusive Materials

Source-verified across two systems — Scripts/Services/Harvest/Mining.cs (the mining path) and Scripts/custom/FelResources/FelDropSystem.cs (the mob-drop path). Trammel and other facets never yield any of these.

Fel Iron Ingot (two parallel paths)

Crafting Materials Reference: Ores, Leather, Cloth, and Specials reference table
Path Source Drop Chance Per Drop
Mining Mining any ore in Felucca Skill-scaled: 1% at 50.0 Mining, 3% at 100.0, 4% at 120.0 1-2 ingots
Mob loop Felucca ore elementals (Dull Copper, Shadow Iron, Copper, Bronze, Golden, Agapite, Verite, Valorite Elementals) 30% per kill 2-5 ingots

The mining path is the steady drip — you can extract slowly while filling normal ore stacks. The elemental loop is the bursty path — fewer kills, much larger payouts when they hit. Neither path requires the other.

Shadowforged Recipe Scrolls (elementals only)

Crafting Materials Reference: Ores, Leather, Cloth, and Specials reference table
Source Drop Chance Per Drop
Felucca ore elementals (same set above) 3% per kill 1 random recipe from a 12-recipe pool (7 armor + shield + 5 weapons)

Mining alone won't give you a Shadowforged recipe — you have to kill ore elementals to roll the recipe. This is the friction the system is built around: the iron is plentiful enough to mine, but the recipe that turns iron into Shadowforged gear is the elemental-loop reward.

Blood Crystal and Draconic Scale (mob drops)

Crafting Materials Reference: Ores, Leather, Cloth, and Specials reference table
Material Source Drop Chance Per Kill
Blood Crystal Any Felucca champion boss (BaseChampion subclass) 20% 1-2 crystals
Draconic Scale Specific Felucca dragon types (Dragon, Greater Dragon, Ancient Wyrm, Drake, Wyvern) 25% 1-3 scales

Felucca extraction comes with PvP risk. Plan accordingly.

For the full system, Fel Iron and Shadowforged.

Crafting Material Tiers Summary

Crafting Materials Reference: Ores, Leather, Cloth, and Specials reference table
Mining Skill Standard Tier Access Fel Iron Mining Drop Rate
0-49 Iron + base materials None — the Fel Iron mining hook gates at 50.0 Mining
50 Dull Copper available 1% per ore harvest
80 Bronze unlocks ~2.2% per ore harvest
100 (GM) Gold through Valorite 3% per ore harvest
120 (Legendary) Best-in-tier mining 4% per ore harvest (clamp ceiling)

Drop rates are linear-interpolated between the anchor points and capped at 4%. Felucca only — Trammel mining at 120 still gives you zero Fel Iron.

For Shadowforged crafting on top, you need both:

  • Smithy 100.0+ (recipes are gated at 100.0 minimum, scaling to 110.0 in DefBlacksmithy)
  • A Shadowforged Recipe Scroll for the specific item you want to craft (drop only from Felucca ore elementals at 3% per kill)

A GM Smith without a recipe can't craft any Shadowforged piece. A non-Smith with a recipe can't craft it either. Both gates have to clear.

Where Materials Come From

Crafting Materials Reference: Ores, Leather, Cloth, and Specials reference table
Activity Yields

Lumberjacking All wood types; requires skill, hatchet, and trees
Skinning Leather and hides; requires knife and creature corpses
Shearing Wool from sheep
Picking Cotton from cotton plants
Combat loot Bone, gems, regs, special drops
Auction House Trade for materials you can't gather

Common Mistakes

  • Mining in Trammel expecting Fel Iron. The Fel Iron mining hook is Felucca-only — Trammel ore mining never yields Fel Iron at any skill level.
  • Expecting a Shadowforged recipe to drop from mining. Mining gives you Fel Iron Ingots; recipe scrolls drop only from Felucca ore-elemental kills at 3%. You need both paths to actually produce Shadowforged gear.
  • Buying materials at NPC vendors. Player-crafted is usually cheaper, especially for processed materials.
  • Hoarding raw ore. Refine to ingots; ingots stack better and are more useful.
  • Skipping Lumberjacking if you're a Smith. Some craft entries need wood components; cross-craft is normal.
  • Trying to craft Shadowforged without GM Smithy. The recipes require 100.0 Smithy minimum; train Smithing first, then chase the recipe scrolls.
  • Treating Powerscrolls as a total-cap raise. They raise per-skill caps from 100 to 120 in tiers; the 700 total skill cap stays at 700.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these materials the same as stock UO?
Mostly yes. Standard UO ores (Iron, Dull Copper, Shadow, Copper, Bronze, Gold, Agapite, Verite, Valorite) work as expected. Immortal Realm adds Felucca-exclusive materials on top: Fel Iron Ingot for the Shadowforged crafting tier, plus Blood Crystal and Draconic Scale. The custom additions don't replace the standard tiers.
Where do I find the Felucca-exclusive materials?
Fel Iron Ingot has two paths: mining ore in Felucca at 1-4% per harvest (skill-scaled — 1% at 50.0 Mining, 3% at 100.0, 4% at 120.0, 1-2 ingots per drop) and killing Felucca ore elementals at 30% (2-5 ingots per kill). Shadowforged Recipe Scrolls drop ONLY from Felucca ore elementals at 3% per kill — mining alone won't give you a recipe. Blood Crystal drops from any Felucca champion boss at 20% (1-2 crystals). Draconic Scale drops from specific Felucca dragon types (Dragon, Greater Dragon, Ancient Wyrm, Drake, Wyvern) at 25% (1-3 scales). Bring nothing you can't lose.
Do crafting tiers stack with TimeWoven augmentation?
Yes. The crafting tier is the base item (Iron longsword, Shadowforged longsword, etc.). TimeWoven adds sockets, essence, and taints on top — augmenting any base. A Shadowforged longsword that's been TimeWoven-augmented is the high-end gear path. See [TimeWoven](/guide/immortal-realm-timewoven) for the augmentation layer.
