  2. Stocked materials — ore in bulk, leather in stacks, cloth bolts, special woods.
  3. A player vendor placed on or near a high-traffic location — preferably near a major bank or auction house.
  4. Auction house listings for high-value individual items — see Auction House.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one character do all crafts?
No — the 700-point cap forces specialization. The most common combinations are: Smith + Tinker (metalwork), Tailor + Inscribe (cloth + scrolls), Carpenter + Tinker (wood + lockpicks). Picking 2-3 trades that share resources is the standard crafter approach. The template here covers the smith-focused path; other paths swap in different trades.
Do I need to be on Felucca for top-tier crafting?
Yes for some materials — Fel Iron Ingot, Blood Crystal, Draconic Scale only drop in Felucca, and the Shadowforged crafting tier requires GM Smithy plus the Felucca-only recipe deeds. A pure Trammel crafter caps out below the absolute top tier, but can produce excellent gear up through standard exceptional + reforged work.
How do I get customers?
Player vendors plus the auction house. List your work on a vendor near a major bank; the [Market](/market) and [Auctions](/auctions) tools surface your listings to the broader player base. Word of mouth matters too — established crafters get repeat business through chat.
