Chirurgeon Build: Civic Healing on Immortal Realm

A Chirurgeon-focused civic build for Immortal Realm — Healing, Anatomy, Magery, Alchemy, and the College Order rank progression.

A civic healing template for Immortal Realm. Chirurgeons sit at the intersection of combat support, healing, and civic Order play — their work is genuinely useful in dungeons, in PvP groups, and in public civic scenes at the College Hall.

College Order Progression

The Chirurgeon Order rank ladder. Seven enum ranks but only the first three promotion paths are wired — ranks above Chirurgeon exist in the system but their promotion gates arrive in later phases:

Chirurgeon Build: Civic Healing on Immortal Realm reference table
Rank Gate Notes
Orderly Entry on join Entry rank
Attendant 30 SP + the rank exam (RankExamGump) — 24h fail cooldown, per-rank Confirmed members handling routine cases
Practitioner 100 SP + 10 lifetime Calmleaf Draught donations + Lung & Limb exam Conduct unsupervised treatments
Chirurgeon 250 SP + 5 lifetime Mire Lung cures + Stones of the Body exam Lead day-to-day Order work; serve as examiners
Physician Promotion gate not yet wired Reserved for future phases
Surgeon Promotion gate not yet wired Reserved for future phases
Master Chirurgeon Promotion gate not yet wired Reserved for future phases

"Provost" is Master Aldric Vermeer's unique NPC title — not a player rank. He hosts every exam in the Hall.

Each rank's 24h failure cooldown is per-rank — failing the Attendant exam doesn't lock you out of the Practitioner or Chirurgeon exams. The Mire Lung cure counter and the Calmleaf donation counter both track lifetime totals (not per-day), and they're stored as account tags, so they survive logout but DO require explicit migration to follow a character through a transfer.

Service points come from:

  • Cure Shakes (4 pts) / Stabilize Shakes (2 pts).
  • Cure Mire Lung (8 pts) / Stabilize Mire Lung (4 pts).
  • Cure Call Stones (12 pts) — the most-rewarded treatment / Failed Call Stones extraction (1 pt).
  • Civic verbs at Attendant+: Absolve / Bless Writ / Prestige Hunt / Relic Aura — 4 pts each.
  • Last Rites at gravestones (6 pts via the Mortal Shock integration).

Daily soft cap: 200 SP/day. Examinations alone don't earn SP — the cure or civic verb is what pays.

When to Respec

This template handles civic healing and group support. Consider a respec when:

  • You want to add Necromancy for combat-buff hybrid.
  • You want to drop Alchemy for combat damage skill (Bushido + Tactics).
  • You want to specialize toward bardic support (Music + Provocation).
  • You want a more combat-leaning template (drop Eval Int + Med for Tactics + Anatomy at higher).

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to join the College for this build to work?
No, mechanically — the skills work without Order membership. But the build is calibrated for College play, where you earn rank progression by treating other players. Without joining, you can heal yourself and friends but won't get the public-recognition layer (rank, civic verbs, examination flow). Most players running this build join the College within their first month.
Can I solo content with this build?
Yes, with caveats. A Chirurgeon has enough Magery + healing to handle low and mid-tier solo PvE. Higher-tier content demands a combat partner or supplements (drop a utility skill for combat). The build is **support-leaning**, not pure DPS — strongest as part of a duo or group.
What about Necromancy and Spirit Speak?
Some Chirurgeons add Necromancy (and Spirit Speak as the gate) for additional healing utility — Vampiric Embrace, Curse Weapon for self-healing through damage, Wither for crowd control. It's a real variant. The base template here is pure-Magery Chirurgeon; the Necro variant adds depth at the cost of dropping one of the support skills.
