Banks

Every major city has a banker. Standing near one and saying bank opens your bank box. Bank locations are typically:

Immortal Realm Locations Reference: Cities, Halls, and Civic Sites reference table
City Bank Location
New Haven Just south of the moongate
Britain Bank center, near the moongate
Trinsic Inside the city walls, near the gate
Vesper Bank near the docks
Most other cities Visible from the moongate plaza

Bank box is shared across all characters on your account.

Moongates

Every major city has a moongate. They connect to all other major cities at no skill cost. Walk into a gate; pick destination from the gump.

Major Dungeons

Immortal Realm Locations Reference: Cities, Halls, and Civic Sites reference table
Dungeon Theme
Despise Beginner mixed (ratmen, orcs)
Destard Dragons
Deceit Undead (ghosts, liches)
Hythloth Demons (high-tier)
Wrong Undead and corruption
Shame Earth elementals, gargoyles (AOS revamp added crystal/element theme)
Covetous Bandits and harpies (revamp added void-spawn content)
Ice Ice creatures, frost dragons
Fire Fire elementals, lava lizards
Doom Doom Gauntlet — Mephitis, Rikktor, Semidar, Dark Father (verified pass 64)

Difficulty within each dungeon scales by depth and zone — a level-1 spawn at a dungeon entrance and a deep boss-room encounter aren't the same content. The labels above are the dungeon's flavor, not a numeric tier — UO doesn't assign dungeons to a fixed difficulty number.

For the dungeon system overview, Immortal Realm Dungeons.

Common Mistakes

  • Trying to memorize every city. You'll only regularly visit 2-3. Memorize those; learn others as needed.
  • Ignoring Britain. Britain is the civic spine; almost everything routes through it.
  • Not using moongates. They're free. Use them.
  • Going to Felucca cities at low skill. You'll die outside the moongate plaza.
  • Skipping Vesper if you craft. It's the crafter's hub for a reason.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these all the cities, or just the important ones?
Just the ones a player will visit regularly. Stock UO has many more cities, but most aren't centers of activity on Immortal Realm. The list here covers cities that have civic halls, vendors, quests, or system NPCs you'll actually interact with.
Where exactly is the College Hall in Britain?
The page deliberately avoids exact coordinates — the world is part of what you discover. The College Hall, Ledger Hall, and Velvet Hand sites are findable in Britain by walking the city, asking in chat, or checking [The Commons](/guide/immortal-realm-commons) for active member locations. Spoiler-light is the design rule.
Do I need to visit every city?
Eventually yes, if you engage broadly with the shard. Practically, most players spend 80% of their time in 2-3 cities (often Britain plus their home city plus one specialty city). The page below ranks cities by how often a typical player visits.
